Iron Swarm — Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about Iron Swarm. For controls and tactics see How to Play and the Strategy Guide; for the full list of modes see Game Modes. Ready to play? Start a battle.

Is Iron Swarm free to play?

Yes. Iron Swarm is free to play in your browser with no download and no sign-up. The mobile versions on iOS and Android are free to download as well.

Are there ads?

Only optional, rewarded ads that you choose to start — for example, watching a short ad to revive and continue, or to double a reward. On the web there are no forced ads and no mid-gameplay interruptions: rewarded ads are the only ad type, and they are always player-initiated.

Do I need an account to play?

No. There is no account, no login, and no sign-up. Open the page and start playing immediately.

Does my progress save?

Yes — locally. Your high scores, best Daily Challenge results, and best Survival wave are stored on your own device and survive closing the tab or restarting. The game does not use a server account, so progress is tied to the device and browser you play on.

What are the controls?

On web and desktop: move with WASD or the arrow keys (your barrel aims where you drive), fire with Space or F, launch the homing missile with R, and activate the support drone with E. On phones and tablets the same actions map to an on-screen joystick and fire, missile, and drone buttons. Full details are on the How to Play page.

Is there a mobile version?

Yes. Iron Swarm is available on iOS and Android in addition to the free web build. The moment-to-moment combat is identical across platforms — only the input surface changes.

What is Commander Pro?

Commander Pro is an optional, mobile-only upgrade that removes ads and unlocks a premium value bundle. It is not pay-to-win and it is not available on the web build — the web version is free with optional rewarded ads only.

How do I beat the bosses?

Every boss telegraphs its big attacks, so the winning habit is to read the wind-up, dodge it, and then punish in the gap. There are four bosses — the Standard boss, the Glacier Warden, the Bastion, and the Iron Commander — each with multiple phases. Our Strategy Guide has a dedicated section on each one, including when to dodge, when to commit damage, and how to handle phase transitions.

What game modes are there?

Campaign (six authored chapters plus an endless Chapter-7 veteran loop), eight story Missions with 23 mastery objectives, a date-seeded Daily Challenge, an unbounded Endless Survival mode, and a rotating Weekly Mutator. Each is described on the Game Modes page.

Is my data collected?

We do not collect your personal data. Your progress lives on your device, not on our servers. For the full details, see our Privacy Policy.

What platforms can I play on?

Iron Swarm runs in any modern web browser on desktop and mobile, and is also available as a native app on iOS and Android.
